Hey all! I was lucky enough to be able to attend Planet Comicon in Kansas City, MO a few weeks ago. It was a great time and I got to see and meet a lot of great people. Got to see Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy), George Takai (Star Trek). Even the great Stan Lee was there! Best of all I got to meet and shake Bill Farmer’s hand! He is the voice of Goofy. He is extremely nice and his regular talking voice sounds just a bit like Goofy. So great!
My wife and I were there helping out with a local group Thank You Walt Disney. They are a non-profit group in Kansas City looking to restore Walt Disney’s first animation studio in the City. They are looking to turn it into a museum and animation studio as well as providing activities for kids. Find out more about them here.
Otherwise, I just wanted to share some of the pictures I took while there. Not all Disney related, but all fun! Everyone was so gracious with taking photos and it was incredibly impressive the talents that were on display here. I hope you find something you enjoy!
For you Adventure Time fans, Princess Bubblegum and Peppermint Butler
A very pleasant Anna from Frozen. She was so great to talk to and even kept working in character references. She told me she was “fetchingly draped against the wall” and then saw our Disney booth and had to come over. Pretty great!
Beaker and Honeydew! Beaker even only talked in meep meeps!
Even Deadpool needs a day job…as Link…selling blind boxes. He was a funny guy.
Vegeta and Freiza from Dragon Ball Z
Tinkerbell and Captain “Hook” or Killian Jones. She truly nailed the spirit and look of Tink.
This and the next few are done by artist Drew Blank. They are all pop culture inspired, fake, LP record sleeves. Something for everyone! I was so surprised to see this Bird Cage reference. Check out his stuff here at the link below.
A perfect Casey Jones from the live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles…the only ones that I will recognize as existing. 🙂
You all know who this is!
Deadpool…always a comedian!
Probably one of the most amazing costumes of the entire event. Oogie Boogie!
Classic Storm Troopers with a bonus Boba Fett photobomb!
So glad Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde made an appearance.
Ariel looking great including a golden dinglehopper!
Everyone’s favorite detectives!
Probably my favorite cosplay as far as costuming and character. Not only was their look outstanding they completely nailed the personalities. Funny and playfully evil. So gracious to everyone who wanted to take a picture as well and there were a lot!
Had so much fun at this event and can’t wait for the Kansas City Comicon.
